Shahada Verification Process

To ensure the authenticity and sanctity of our prayer community, PRAYSAP requires verification of your Muslim identity through the Shahada process.

What is Shahada Verification?​

The Shahada (Arabic: الشهادة‎) is the Islamic declaration of faith. Our verification process ensures that all community members are practicing Muslims, creating a trusted environment for prayer and spiritual connection.

Important: This process is designed to be respectful, private, and secure. We understand the sensitivity of faith verification and handle it with the utmost care.

Verification Methods​

Step 1: Prepare for Recording

  1. Find a quiet, private space
  2. Ensure your device microphone is working
  3. Have the Shahada text ready (provided in the app)

Step 2: Record Your Shahada

  1. Tap "Start Audio Verification" in the app
  2. Read the Shahada clearly in Arabic:

Arabic: أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأشهد أن محمداً رسول الله
Transliteration: Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan rasul Allah
Translation: "I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah."

  1. Tap "Submit Recording" when complete

Step 3: Review Process

  • Your recording is reviewed by our verification team
  • Process typically takes 24-48 hours
  • You'll receive a notification when approved

Method 2: Video Verification​

For users who prefer video verification:

  1. Select "Video Verification" option
  2. Follow the same process as audio, but with video recording
  3. Your face doesn't need to be visible - focus on clear audio
  4. Same 24-48 hour review process applies

Method 3: Community Verification​

If you prefer community-based verification:

  1. Connect with verified PRAYSAP users in your area
  2. Arrange a brief verification meeting
  3. Community verifier confirms your Shahada
  4. Instant verification upon confirmation

Privacy and Security​

Your Data Protection​

🔒 Encrypted Storage: All verification recordings are encrypted
👥 Limited Access: Only authorized verification team members can review
⏰ Automatic Deletion: Recordings deleted after 30 days of verification
🚫 No Public Sharing: Your verification is never shared publicly

What We Do NOT Store​

  • ❌ Facial recognition data
  • ❌ Biometric information
  • ❌ Personal religious practices
  • ❌ Sect or denomination details

Common Questions​

Q: What if I'm a new Muslim?​

A: New converts are welcome! The verification process is the same. If you need help with pronunciation, our community support can assist.

Q: Can I verify in a language other than Arabic?​

A: While Arabic is preferred, we accept Shahada recitation in other languages if you include the Arabic version as well.

Q: What if my verification is rejected?​

A: You can resubmit immediately. Common reasons for rejection include unclear audio or incomplete recitation. Our team provides feedback to help you succeed.

Q: Is this process mandatory?​

A: Yes, verification is required to access prayer sessions and community features. This ensures the authenticity of our prayer community.

Q: How long does verification last?​

A: Once verified, your status is permanent unless there are security concerns or policy violations.

After Verification​

Once your Shahada verification is approved:

Technical Issues​

If you experience problems during verification:

Audio Issues:

  • Ensure microphone permissions are enabled
  • Test audio recording in another app first
  • Try in a quieter environment

App Problems:

  • Update to the latest version
  • Restart the app
  • Contact support if issues persist
